When I started Unsetting Expectations a month ago, my only goal was to openly share my experiences and thoughts of my journey of, well, unsetting expectations šŸ™‚

Today, seeing your responses—telling me how much you relate (& with strong emotions), paired with the messages of gratitude for me using my voice & putting your feelings into words, makes me so happy, but also responsible!

The issues of perfectionism and high expectations, such as depression and burnout, are very important topics that unfortunately don't get a lot of air time because they're seen as weaknesses. There's a lot of shame around them.

I was always very open with my struggles and vocal with my opinions, and your feedback makes me work even harder and reach even wider. I want you to know that no, you’re not alone, and no, you’re not weak. And I want you to know that I will keep showing up for you and normalizing this conversation.

I feel grateful to be able to carry this forward šŸ’ and also to share this platform with others! šŸ‘€

šŸ˜ guest posts are coming!

The benefits of talking about perfectionism, expectations, and a sense of worth are greater when coming from a range of perspectives.

That’s why I'm thrilled to announce that every 2nd article of Unsetting Expectations will feature a GUEST! šŸ”„

Our first guest will talk to us about the dynamic of perfectionism in work environments! It’s a super interesting conversation which I’m excited to bring to you on April 15th.

If you have a story to share—please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Your story and your voice matter. When you share your own story, you’re also giving a voice to others.

Thanks for gifting me space in your inbox. A warm welcome to my newest subscribers: Emma, Lara, Stephanie, Evelina, Melina & Liana šŸ‘‹

Please feel free to hit reply to this e-mail and let me know what you thought of the articles so far. Reading your replies makes my heart warm.

If you like it, please share this newsletter. Forward it to your friends. Post about it on social media. These things might seem small, but all these moments add up and help me reach new people who might be needing to hear what we've got to say here šŸ™

I’ll see you next Thursday when I’ll talk about losing friends whilst you’re advancing throughout life & growing successful.

Until then, take good care and thank you once more šŸ’›

Love,

Franka

In a society that openly shames those who struggle with their mental health, it's an act of rebellion to share your story.
